Julie Pool founded askjules in 2003, her vision of providing services for the disabled and elderly to enable independent living was a bit before the times.

Julie spent the following years researching the subject and putting her ideas into practice helping young disabled adults and the elderly in a voluntary capacity.  Julie’s ideas and methods worked well and in 2009 Julie joined forces with former business colleague Matt Beaton.  In January 2010 Askjules Ltd was formed. 

In 2008 Julie helped her son who suffers from Spinal Muscular Atrophy leave home and live independently whilst at university in Manchester.  He employs his own team of personal assistants  who provide 24/7 care and support.   Julie provides the Advocare PA Employer service and takes care of his statutory obligations as an employer.

Askjules is offering these advocacy, recruitment  and Advocare  services to others who are looking to achieve their ambitions through independent living.

Our service philosophy is built upon our three core values which are: personal, flexible and transparent.  So, how do we demonstrate those values in the way we work with you?

The service we provide to you is delivered face-to face by a single "directly accountable" professional askjules advocate. You will have chosen this individual as "your" askjules advocate. Continuity of contact ensures that your askjules advocate has a real interest in you and will be able to tailor the work you do together to directly address your specific needs, situation and timescales.

We offer a range of advocacy programmes which are designed to offer you flexibility. You can select an inclusive programme; an individual stage; a combination of stages; or you can engage us by the hour for specific advice and assistance.  

At an exploratory meeting, the askjules advocate will explain in detail how the two of you will work together. 

We employ advocates who will be honest with you from day one and for whom personal integrity is paramount.  Ask any question and be as direct as you wish, your askjules advocate will give you a straight answer.
